I have never used this blog for anything political and I hesitate to do so now - except - this was such an eye-opener for me that I felt the need to share it. The Gospel Coalition published an excellent article asking why only pro-life candidates are questioned about their stand on abortion. They suggest in the article 10 thoughtful questions that pro-choice candidates should be asked. I'd love to hear the responses. I think they would tell us much about the candidates. Why should only one side of a debate be required to justify their stance on any issue? Bravo to The Gospel Coalition for making us think!

Today is our 30th anniversary.
And - yes - I was a child bride!
The years have flown by while we've pursued life as a married couple. And it has been a pursuit. Life isn't easy. Married life isn't easy. We've had our disappointments, disillusions, and times of discontent. Those obstacles strengthened our relationship because we didn't let them derail our goal - our pursuit - of a life together.
So why have we persevered when so many marriages haven't. I'd like to say we're just that good... but in truth, we're blessed. When we stood in the church before God and said our vows, we meant them. They were not said lightly. And He has blessed us time and time again through the good times and the bad because - I believe - we have honored our vows and our commitment to Him. We don't always get it right. It's not always pretty. But our hope - and marriage - is build on nothing less, than Jesus' blood and righteousness.

A fellow writer from Christianwriters.com, Carol Peterson, has awarded me the coveted Liebster Blog Award (for blogs with under 200 members). Carol's blog is From Carol's Quill - Words of Encouragement; Words of Faith. Thank you, Carol!
Now it's my privilege to point out five more fun and encouraging blogs. If you haven't visited them, you should! Here is my list:
If I had to list just one blog as a favorite, I'd have to give the nod to Colonial Quills, the joint effort of several writers of Christian colonial fiction. Everything colonial from recipes to wagons, blacksmithing to ladies' fashions and some good book reviews in there too.
For deep thinkers, Dead Man Writing by writer Scott Fields is a meaty blog. Scott finds insights and pulls meaning out of the most interesting places.
For poetry it's Wordsculptures - Words and Pictures Reflecting Life and Faith by poet Keith Wallis. It's worth a visit for his wonderful photography alone.
Carrie Pagel's blog, Overcoming Through Time - With God's Help, is full of book reviews and interesting author interviews. I've read several books as a result of visiting this one!
For a hodgepodge of always interesting creative thoughts and ideas, take a peek at The Call of the Creator by writer and artist Becky Minor.

My dad is suffering from this disease as did his mother before him.
Yes, I'm feeling a little next in line.
Yes, I want someone to find the cure.
Yes, I need your help.
And so do the 5.4 million people currently dealing with Alzheimer's.
Please donate to my Walk to End Alzheimer's.

Sheepish according to the Merriam-Webster on-line dictionary:
* Main Entry: sheep·ish
* Pronunciation: \shē-pish\
* Function: adjective
* Date: 13th century
1 : resembling a sheep in meekness, stupidity, or timidity
2 : affected by or showing embarrassment caused by consciousness of a fault
With all due respect to Merriam and Webster... they missed one!
3 : in need of the Shepherd, prone to stray
I chose this title for my blog based on definition #3. I'm prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love. Thankfully, He has never left me.
Scribe according to the Merriam-Webster on-line dictionary:
* Main Entry: scribe
* Pronunciation: \skrīb\
* Function: noun
* Date: 14th century
1 : a member of a learned class in ancient Israel through New Testament times
2 a : an official or public secretary or clerk b : a copier of manuscripts
3 : writer; specifically : journalist
My journey into writing fiction starts with this blog. May He bless my best efforts beyond what I am able.
