Mind over MadiMind over Madi by Lynda Lee Schab

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Laughing out loud funny!  As a woman, if you can't see half your girlfriends and more than a little of yourself in Madi, there is something wrong with you.  Wonderfully written with pithy inner comments and painfully raw, honest truth.  Loved it.  Have already recommended it to several friends and passed it on to one.  Read it when you need a good laugh with an underlying story that will warm your heart.  Just don't expect the guys to understand it.  ;)

winds of wyomingwinds of wyoming by Rebecca Carey Lyles

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoy a book about flawed characters who overcome their situation - or themselves - to grow into the person God intended them to be.  Winds of Wyoming is that kind of story.  And it has a handsome cowboy... so how could it go wrong?!

Kate Neilson is trying to turn over the proverbial new leaf.  With her criminal background, this is no easy task.  With a goon from prison following her across the country, it's even harder.

Mike Duncan can't let go of his past.  When Kate walks onto his ranch, he begins to think of a future, unaware that she also has a past.

When buffalo turn up dead and money disappears, all sorts of secrets surface.  Plenty of twists and turns as this story unfolds.  They'll keep you turning the pages!  Suitable for high school and older due to some adult issues.

The Shadow Catcher's DaughterThe Shadow Catcher's Daughter by Carla Olson Gade

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Charming story about a girl and her father who buck the cultural norms of 1870s Colorado.  Eliana Van Horn and her father are photographers and join an expedition to the Four Corners.  Handsome, educated - and half-breed - Yiska Wilcox is drawn to Eliana from the start.  An unexpected twist paves the way for them to build a future in the new land.  Well worth reading and suitable for any age.

With Eyes of LoveWith Eyes of Love by Linda S. Glaz

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book started a little slow for me, but really picked up speed and galloped into a "can't put it down" ending.  If you're tempted to put it down - don't - trust me.

Barbara Richardson met Jackson Judge under distressing circumstances that didn't include her upcoming engagement.  A year and a half later, she's back to stand up for his sister's wedding.  Unmarried because her own engagement fizzled, Barbara secretly hopes to reconnect with Jackson.

Home from Pearl Harbor and bearing scars both inside and out, Jackson has resigned himself to a life of solitude.  The young lady who captured his heart before the war now threatens his new life.

The twist toward the end - no spoiler here - caught me totally off guard.  I love that!  It's a romance so of course you know the ending is coming, but it's always delightful when it delivers that extra "ahhh" of a well wrapped up story.  I highly recommend this one and it's suitable for any age.
